i had some corn pudding at lunch today and i cant believe how good it is.

i have to study tonight for my linguistics test tomorrow…i have to know stuff like past progressive tense and linking verbs and how diagram stuff.  some how i never learned grammar in high school so this stuff is completely foreign.  i have a long night ahead of me.

sorry for the lack of posts lately…last week was busy!

TEXAS!
as most of you know, i went to texas last weekend for my brothers high school graduation.
i had a great time.  i love any chance i get to see my family and friends.
friday: me, my mom, and my brother went to a place called taco deli for lunch and it was awesome.  it was very amy’s icecream/freebirds-esque (that wont mean anything to most of you).  i got the fish tacos and they were delicious.  then we just hung out and me and my mom went to get manicures and pedicures…it was nice and relaxing.  i love the color i got on my toes…its called hoodoo voodoo or something…its like a pinky red.  friday i went downtown with my friend brittnee…it was fun…i miss/love austin a lot.  it really is the coolest city.     
saturday: i went to HEB and Costco with my mom to help her shop for Sunday brunch foods.  we also went to target where i told my mom that since she doesnt get to buy things for me as often as she used to she should buy stuff for me.  it worked and she bought me two dresses and a pair of strappy flats.  she bought the same shoes and a cute top for herself.  we looked good!  for dinner we went to fajita warehouse.  i got fajitas…duh.  then we went to my grandparents house to play their wii.  it was funny…my brother is way to competitive.  we had pie for my aunt linda’s birthday.  it was gooood.
sunday: the big day!  we had family over for a brunch.  on the menu: migas, hashbrown casserole, some other casserole, fruit, veggies, belgium waffles, mini muffins, mimosas, and of course a graduation cake.  the cake had a picture of trevor on it.  he ate his own face…it was pretty funny.  i had a good time visiting with my family.  after the brunch me and my dad hoped on his motorcycle and cruised (haha) to jamba juice to get free smoothies.  mmm yummers.  i wish birmingham had a jamba juice.  HEY JAMBA JAMBA!  you should watch this if you havent seen it.  *funny story: on the way back from jamba juice a huge gust of wind blew so hard that it undid the buttons on my dad’s shirt and his shirt was flapping open and his hairy chest was exposed for all to see…it was so funny.  we had to pull over so he could button his shirt.  you should have seen it.*  graduation was at 6pm and it was a typical graduation…my brother got lots and lots of cheers.  he’s quite popular…he was prom king after all.  we met up with him and took pictures then we went to red lobster for dinner.
summary:  i am proud of my brother…he’s turning out to be a superb young man.  if anyone is curious his after HS plans are to go to ACC (austin community college) to get his EMT stuff then he’s going to be a fireman!  he’s so brave.  anyway, my trip to austin was short but wonderful…i wish it wasnt 13 hours away so i could go more often.

CHATTANOOGA! 
this past saturday casey and i went up to chattanooga to celebrate our 2 year anniversary (its tomorrow if you want to send presents).  we went to the aquarium and to the 3D imax.  it was fun times.  i think i liked the river part of the aquarium best.  i really liked the butterfly room and of course the otters.  we saw ”whales and dolphins” at the imax.  the 3D kinda hurt my eyes and my head…but it was still cool.  after aquarium fun we walked over the bridge to the other side of the river to look around in some neat shops.  then we came back and walked around some more.  we stopped at a candy store and i got some candy corn and it was abnormally good candy corn…like the best i’ve ever had.  casey got his favorite…jawbreakers.  then we ate dinner at mellow mushroom which is always always so so good.  after dinner we sat on a bench and and listend to some bagpipes and people watched.  then we looked around town some more and headed home.  it was a good, fun day. 

SCOOTER! 
for those of you who havent heard, casey and i bought a scooter.  we are going to end up spending like 8 dollars a month on gas for it.  its going to pay for its self rather quickly.

TODAY! 
work, birthday banana pudding at work, class, veggie delight in class, study, sleep.

my blog is not on strike ashley…

i’ve just been a little busy lately with this new job and school starting. my job is going really well so far. i like it and i like my co-workers. school started yesterday and i was really sad. im still sad. im taking 2 classes this summer. monday nights i have 18th century theory and interpretation (its a lit. class). thursday nights i have grammar and usage for english teachers (its a linguistics class). the worst part about these classes is that they start and 5:30 and finish at 9:40…4 hours! so mondays and thursdays are going to be long days…work from 8:30 to 5 and class from 5:30 to 9:40. yuck. i’ll be ok…hopefully.

i am going to texas this weekend! im super excited. my brother is graduating high school this sunday. im so glad im getting to go. i’ve lived outside of texas for 3 years so i missed most of his high school years…i didnt get to see him off to any proms or go to any football games…so im really glad that im getting to be there when he graduates. and im really glad i get to see the rest of my family of course. woohoo!

morning: i woke up early to try out the gym in my office building…when i left the house it was raining.  i got a little ways down the street and realized i forgot my lunch.  so i turned around and i got to see a huge rainbow! maybe that’s why i forgot my lunch.  my work out was pretty good.  i havent worked out in probably two weeks so i got super tired super fast.  it was still good though.  so after my work out i went to go put gas in my car.  as i was driving i started feeling like i was going to throw up.  so i pulled over and got my car trash can but nothing happened so i went on to the gas station.  about half way through pumping my gas i had to get my trash can again.  this time i did throw up…it was weird.

day: work was pretty good today.  i felt kinda shaky/queezy all day but luckily i never got sick again.  i stayed busy all day which made the day go by faster.  when i left work it was raining pretty hard and i left my rain jacket in the car (naturally) so i got wet.  but then right when i closed my car door it started pouring! it was raining like crazy with loud thunders.  i loved it.  its still raining right now but not as hard.  i got home and cooked pork, corn on the cob, and beans for dinner.  it was tasty.

tonight: i want to clean out my clothes, clean up the house a bit, eat ice cream, and go to sleep!

i must be honest…im kinda bummed that one person commented on my new job post.  i thought people would be more excited.  im just being sensitive and i guess most people told me congrats in person.

anyway, my first week was pretty interesting. the girl that is training me was out for 2 of the 5 days due to an injury/sickness.  so those 2 days were kinda scary but luckily she can work from home so she was still helping me.  this week i didnt really have any down time at work and i feel like its just going to get busier and busier but i think im going to like this job as long as i dont get too overwhelmed when school starts.

one thing im super excited about is that my office building backs right up to the lakeshore trail and it has a little gym that i have access too.  so im going to try to work out/run every morning before work.  woohoo!

today we went to david and tinas new lake house.  it was fun and a nice day to go out on the lake.  bella came with us and she liked it.  david cooked us hamburgers and they were “dewicious.”  i think tomorrow afternoon we are going to see indiana jones…anyone want to join us? i dont know what we are going to do monday since neither of us have to work.  i wanna do something fun!  any ideas?

yes, i got a new job and today (technically yesterday…its 12:06am) was my first day. i am working for a company called founders investment banking. i am the receptionist/administrative assistant. i work M-F from 8:30 - 5. today was really overwhelming. well, i guess not really overwhelming…maybe just regular overwhelming. i just have a lot to learn and figure out. i think i’m going to be busy pretty much all the time…which is good because it will make the days go by faster. im hoping to get everything figured out before classes starts so that i’ll be able to focus more on my school work. anyway, im super tired and need to go to bed. sorry this post wasnt very detailed…if you have any questions about my new job just ask me.
